Don’t let the long prologue and slow beginning deter you from what is an amazingly written political fantasy!
The slow beginning is necessary to paint the characters and world in a compelling and in depth way without the info dumping that is often clumsily done.
The stakes gradually grow as we start to unravel a mystery that is bigger than we think and as someone why doesn’t enjoy anything without some smut, this is my new favourite novel and I’m sure with the second novel coming, will be my new favourite series.
