Wizard's First Rule
by Terry Goodkind
DID NOT FINISH: 0%
It had an interesting premise in the first 50 pages, but I never really got hooked. I started losing interest about the time Richard and Kahlan arrived at Adie's hut, maybe a little before, anf the Rahl sections that Goodkind slipped in made me extremely uncomfortable. I know he's the villain, but Goodkind's details on what he's like and what his lieutenant is like honestly felt more like a way for him to go "look! Look at how evil these characters are!" Yes, I get it, they're evil. Can I have deeper reasons to hate the guy other than the fact that he's a misogynist and sadist and employs the same?
I was starting to look for a reason to give up here, and that plus the fact that a LOT of the negative reviews mention the same things means this is not a book I want to put more time into.
