Weird, creepy, unpredictable, startling, disturbing, fantastical...I've not really come across a short story collection like this before and I'm finding it a bit difficult to find words for it - although that is definitely on the plus side. Some of the stories were too gory for me but then some were absolutely captivating. Emotions manifest themselves in the lives of the characters and strange occurrences weave their way through. Sometime the surreal logic is a bit tricky to follow but mostly surrendering to the emotion of the story makes it make more sense. There was a lot of sorrow underpinning the stories though. A very interesting read.
