I found the first half of this book very painful to get through. However the second half redeemed it. It was an interesting and entertaining story about a family with psychic powers, headed by a con man patriarch, who run into some trouble with the mob. I think the reason I had trouble connecting with the first half was because of the characters were particularly likeable overtime however they grew I need a little bit at least in terms of entertainment value even if you might not want to befriend any of them.
