Rhys's ascension, more like Rhys's descension.

It’s like watching a car wreck, reading Rhys descending deep into his ambitions. The combination of Catholic guilt, the closetness, cowardice, selfishness and ambition is a deadly concoction. That’s what makes his story compelling. He has metaphorical and literal demons to deal with. The story is heavier on character-driven elements, so if you want to know what was going on with the public ritual storyline, it is
pushed to the back of the trio's story
. Even with that in mind, I look forward to the next books in the series, Divination (2027) and Transmutation (2028).
