I’ve read this book a few times since it’s been published, it’s a favorite of mine. I’m also just a big fan of this author, I try to read everything she writes. Bone River though I think is one of her best. I think she does a few things very well in her writing, especially in Bone River:
-the atmosphere and mood she creates. In this book, I love how she writes of their home on the River, the fog and rain, the chill.
-strong and interesting women. The female protagonists Megan Chance writes always intrigue me, and I really like the progression of Leonie’s character in this book. She definitely goes on a person journey in this book, I’ll say that much.
-tension. I completely buy the romantic tension in this book, and there are plenty of other conflicts with characters in the book that can make me tense up as I read.
If you’re looking for an atmospheric book, a book with a woman coming into her own, a decent mystery, I highly recommend Bone River.
