Incredible comic book. The only reason I could not give this one 5 stars is because of the specific edition. This translated edition messes with Hugo Pratt's gorgeous artwork, resizing it, printing it at a low quality, and just generally messing up an awesome book.
This summer, while visiting Paris, I stumbled across a complete set of an older Italian edition of Corto Maltese in an apartment that my wife and I had rented for the week. Although I cannot read Italian, the art was stunning, and the quality of the edition was remarkable. Too bad I have not been able to find English reprints of all the Corto Maltese books. Americans are really missing out on an awesome character. The art, the attitude, the setting, and the characters all make Pratt's Corto Maltese books a thoroughly enjoyable experience!
