3.75 stars. I personally enjoyed this one. I thought it was funny, I enjoyed the various FTA plot lines, and I liked some of the character development we saw in Stephanie. She has her classic traits, but is learning some new skills and a bit more confidence. There’s been 31 books, and it appears some fans like the formula and don’t want it messed with too much at all. I appreciate some movement and shifting, and I think this was nicely done in a way that stayed pretty true to the heart of the Stephanie Plum world. I can’t decide if would have liked the “who will she choose?” conclusion to be a little more detailed at the end. I both love and hate the way it was done, so take that as you will. As for the decision she made, I was never a fan that was strongly Team Morelli or Team Ranger, because I really think there are fun opportunities for stories in either direction. I am just glad there’s been some changes that can open some new doors and options for future stories and interested to see where this turn takes us in the next book!
