I like reading the Old Testament stories as novellas, however, it does cause me to make some stretches where the original Bible story is concerned. Although the strength and grace of Ruth comes out in this book, it is hard to accept some of the circumstances. It was an enjoyable read and I appreciate how Rivers includes the text from the Bible in the study section.
