The Hemlock Queen
by Hannah Whitten
medium-paced
Yet another great book in this series. I loved the detail in this one, it really upped the stakes from book one and gave a lot of background story building that helped me better understand the world, the gods, and the characters.
I felt the emotion deform each of them all the way through the book. I was confused, angry, exhausted, emotional, and conflicted, but all in the very best way. I love feeling this kind of connection with the characters in the books I’m reading, it helps me feel invested. I also found that there were a lot of moments that caught me by surprise in a good way.
This trilogy is turning out to be more than I initially anticipated. The wait for book three is going to be difficult!
