Chet the dog is Bernies partner in the PI business. they have a new case with Dr Wendell Nero, a hydrologist, but when they show up for the meeting, they find him dead. they discover a struggling wine maker in the dessert who has received an offer he cant refuse. but Bernie believes the wrong suspect is being blamed. and Suzie is back in town with a new fiance.
-i enjoy this series because Chet the dog is the narrator. i'm not sure if its a 3 or a 4, but i'll go with 4. i enjoy the lighthearted silliness that is Chet, while Bernie handles the more serious stuff. i love how Chet's tail always has a mind of its own.
"rooftop chases don't happen often, so when they do you've got to enjoy them with all your heart. no problem. enjoying with all my heart is one of my best things, right up there with leaping and grabbing perps by the pant leg."
