I don't typically read thrillers, but as far as thrillers go, this one was pretty entertaining and well done. The main character, Lucy Chase, is found wandering by herself right after her best friend, Savvy, was murdered. She is covered in her friend's blood, but she doesn't remember a thing and without any evidence, she is never arrested for the crime. Yet for a few years, many people suspect that she is the one who killed Savvy. Lucy moves away, only to return home for her grandmother's birthday. A popular (and good-looking) podcaster, Ben, also heads to Lucy's hometown to try to uncover the truth of what happened to Savvy. Without giving away any spoilers, the story unravels slowly, with chapters alternating between Lucy's point of view and podcast episodes. I thought this was a really creative way to tell the story. What made this story even more interesting and entertaining was Lucy's dry sense of humor and sarcasm. I found myself laughing out loud during certain parts of this, which isn't typical for a thriller. If you're into more light (can we call a murder story light?) thrillers, I would recommend Listen for the Lie.
