I seem to keep finding major cliffhangers lately, but this one was so good! Wren is mundane - she has no power from the moon and isn't considered moonstruck like her friends. Sam and Lee, her very best friends from childhood, and her whole world. As Lee is about to leave again for the academy, he and Wren celebrate her birthday, but get a huge surprise - she is indeed moonstruck.
Navigating the academy and knowing nothing about her magic, Wren quickly learns that the magical world is far more complicated than she ever expected. It's also far more dangerous. As Wren finds her way, Lee, Sam and the rest of their friends make their own discoveries and alliances. In the midst of all of this, Wren and Lee finally realized what they are to each other. Unfortunately, the night couldn't have ended any worse.
