An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn

Mister. Benedict. Bridgerton.

I knew it. I knew from the moment that I first was introduced to his character in the series i would love him. In the show we didn’t get much information about Benedict yet but I just had this connection to him because I felt like I would love his character and he did not disappoint.

But I’m gonna start with Sophie. I fell in love with Sophie instantly. Out of all of the love interests that I’ve read in the Bridgerton series so far, she is the one who deserves love and happiness, the most. To that point she is matched expertly with Benedict because he also is the Bridgerton brother that I feel deserves the most love. They have a unique connection of being undervalued and overlooked for something they cannot control. For Sophie, it’s her status/origin story and for Benedict, it’s his name. And for them both to have the same sixth sense that something at that ball was going to change their life forever is insane to me.

My connection and love for Benedict was only amplified while reading this and for Sophie, she genuinely has become my favorite love interest in the whole Bridgerton series. I loved the banter. I loved their love story. I love Lady Bridgerton — not Kate of course — supporting her son, being there for him, and being real with him when it came to marriage.

This book also has a better set up for Colin and Penelope than the show because they really made him drag her in the show. I thoroughly enjoy reading about Colin, because I actually get his true personality now versus in the show.

All in all, I am not even remotely surprised about my love for them. My only question is which couple is better: Anthony and Kate or Sophie and Benedict?
