The Butcher and the Wren
by Alaina Urquhart
I went into The Butcher and the Wren hoping for the best - and it delivered. The writing pulled me in right away, and the twists were incredibly well done. I didn’t see them coming, but they made perfect sense in hindsight, which is exactly what I want in a thriller.
I finished this with a throbbing migraine and still dragged myself to Barnes & Noble just to grab The Butcher Game - because I had to know what happened next. That alone should tell you how addictive this book is.
Fast-paced, unsettling, and cleverly plotted. A great debut.
