Oh man. Overall just so utterly disappointing. I was expecting so much more from this after reading her fanfiction. Batmobile is pretty much my favorite romance story that I've ever read. The building of their relationship over time and the slow burn is perfection. I have never read another story where there's so much relationship development that feels genuine. And absolutely hilarious dry humor. And you could see where this story took elements from batmobile. But they were pushed more to the extreme, making the main characters more caricatures than complex real feeling people. Making him as terrible as possible and her is uptight as possible as opposed to him just being less morally upright and her being more morally upright. Making them so extreme also makes them really unlikable. He's just a terrible person and she's too rigid in her ideals making her never relax for a connection .
And them liking each other didn't feel natural and gradual like it did and batmobile. It felt like all the rest of the books where they hate each other until they don't and suddenly they're in love. I mean we're in their heads so we should be able to see more of them wanting to spend time with each other even if they won't admit it (like in batmobile). And seeing the gradual changes in the way they talk to each other or trust each other (like in batmobile). But because the characters were more extreme they're dislike is more extreme. Especially on the FL's part. She's basically never even remotely friendly because he murders people for a living.
The humor in this again I could feel some similarity to batmobile but the dry humor was lacking in comparison while as the childish humor was cranked up to 100. Most of the child is humor and batmobile was fine though not my favorite. In this one it was less funny in the first place and then there was so much more of it. Too many penis jokes.
I doubt this is actually worth three stars but I think I'm rating it higher just because of its connection to batmobile so it feels wrong to give it such a low score
