Carry On: Reflections for a New Generation by John Lewis

5.0

John Lewis was an amazing man. He had conviction and faith and morals. And he lived his life trying to make this country a better place for all people in what he thought of as The American House.

This book was written shortly before he passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2020. It is a collection of his thoughts on a variety of topics from faith and love to death and Covid 19. Each topic is only 1-5 pages long. And they're all there to guide the reader towards being their best.

It's a quick read - I read the whole book on Sunday. Which seemed apt because it almost felt like reading snippets of a really good sermon and there was so much that was easily applicable to my daily life. I think we can all benefit from thinking a little bit more like John Lewis. His way of thinking has led the world to be a better place than it was when he got here. This book is a definite recommend.
