The High Lord by Trudi Canavan

5.0

The emotions that I endured throughout this book…what a rollercoaster.
I was very sad & disappointed with the death of Akkarin, as he and Sonea were supposed to land up together! After everything they had endured. And now she is pregnant, when they found time to “do” anything astounds me.
Only from half way through the book did I become fond of Akkarin’s character, only for him to die at the end :/
I understand that his death adds a realistic touch to the story considering it was about the Ichani Invasion & the mass casualties, of which neither he or his best friend Lorlen were spared.
The character development throughout this trilogy was amazing & I became invested in the outcome of each character. I am happy that Sonea advanced into the Healing Speciality, in order to give back to her roots.

I wonder if Sonea will land up with Dorrien??

I was engrossed from the very beginning & I am very excited for the next book!
