A Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan
4.0
adventurous medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated

classic robert jordan ragebaits me with character frustration for 500 pages and then grips me with oh god several things are happening. he is very good at driving me forward with this combo of frustrating moments and glorious moments

it's hard to tell how much of my frustration with characters' actions is deliberate (satisfying) and how much is genuine frustration with some somewhat... conservative choices, but then again those rarely turn out as bad as i'm anticipating so maybe it is actually more the former. regardless it is keeping me reading so good job rj

i did feel like
rand and sammael's fight at the end was kind of anticlimactic... rand just runs around the city for ages dodging lightning and then the other evil thing gets sammael? its sus your honour
. so many questions were raised at the end... what is going on
