“I have loved and I have lost, but my heart still works. There will be other chapters. I will love again.”
I absolutely adored this book. Sophie Cousens’ writing strikes the perfect balance between heartfelt and witty, drawing you into the story with humor and warmth while delivering all the emotional depth you could want.
Anna, a single mom juggling the demands of parenthood, a super annoying ex, and her career, is such a relatable and well-written character. Her personal journey to rediscover herself is beautifully portrayed—thoughtful, empowering, and laced with moments of vulnerability. I really enjoyed watching her learn to prioritize her happiness while navigating her challenges.
The romance between Anna and Will added so much charm to the story. Their chemistry is undeniable from the start, and their gradual connection felt so genuine and swoon-worthy. The dynamic of their opposites-attract relationship brought humor, tension, and heartfelt moments that had me snort-laughing and even tearing up a little.
What I especially loved was how real and earnest the characters felt. Anna and Will weren’t just romantic leads—they were layered, flawed, and incredibly human. The romance was central, but the story was also about self-discovery, compromise, and finding joy in unexpected places.
