The Giant's House by Elizabeth McCracken

4.0

I can’t decide if this a 3 or 4 star. The writing is a 4 star at least. Peggy is not anywhere near that, sadly. I hate goodreads for not offering half stars.

Anyway, I kind of want to let this book digest before a real review, and I think it’ll stick with me for long enough to do so.
I absolutely love the writing style. It’s a gorgeously written book. It starts off intriguing. I knew the content would be odd and I was prepared for that. But I did not find Peggy to be a very like able character, or to be awful enough that even that might make her intriguing. She’s selfish and while I understand her a bit, it’s only fragments here or there.
I like bizarre but this wasn’t enough to make me fall in love, or Fully grasp the love in the story. That being said, I finished it in a day. Beautiful style.
