I’ve seen previous reviews which compare Fourth Wing to the YA books we all fell in love with in the 2000s, and honestly now I’ve read it, I see it.

If Divergent, Eragon, The Hunger Games, Ember in the Ashes and Zodiac Academy had a love child, this is it. But *better* and WAY more adult.

We’ve got one of the best slow burn, enemies to lovers storylines I’ve read in a long time, a simply stunning FMC, who has chronic illness and is rep’d wonderfully. A cast of supporting characters who you easily grow to love (or hate), who are absolutely part of the story and not just background noise.

As the plot develops, you realise that things may not be as they seem. However, unlike with other fantasy cliffhanger books I’ve read in the last couple of years, this one I did NOT guess the ending at all. My god, take a bow Rebecca Yarros because this was phenomenal and I may take a while to recover.
