The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

5.0

The amount of world-building and lore in this book is beyond my imagination. It's long and detailed. It's also so multilayered, I'm sure there are things I missed when reading. I had to stop and start this novel because of its in-depth nature (and because it's over 1000 pages), but I so enjoyed reading what Sanderson had created. I did not grow up reading as much as fantasy as I wished I had and The Way of Kings felt like it welcomed me with open arms. Even though I am still most interested in the history and the experiences of Shallan, Jasnah, Navani, and even Syl, I was invested in the outcomes of the battles and the growth all of the characters experience.

Really excited to have finished a book this long, and looking forward to reading [b:Words of Radiance|17332218|Words of Radiance (The Stormlight Archive, #2)|Brandon Sanderson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1507307927l/17332218._SY75_.jpg|16482835] to find out what happens next.
