Elements of this really reminded me of Once and Future Witches by Alix E Harrow. And I really liked those elements. I liked the magic and its ties with nature. I liked flipping between each of the three women and seeing their lives. I liked that they took their power and used it to steer the course of their lives. 

That being said, I was not ready for all of the content contained within the book. This book was recommended to me many times, and no one ever really mentioned the many traumatic topics/scenes. I didn’t think to check the content warnings, and I was taken by surprise. So just go into it being aware of the content.  It’s not a happy read, but I still think it was a really good read.
