The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life: Before 8AM by Hal Elrod

2.0

2 stars instead of 1 because some of the core ideas are correct and useful, if not original. These sound like good habits to get into. Overall, though, the book is obnoxious. This is partly because the entire thing could have been three pages if you took out the filler, the sales pitches, and the invitations to join the related website. It's also because the book reeks of individualism. There's a certain point at which encouragement to work on your problems becomes "if you're suffering, it's just because you're not trying hard enough," and we are well past that point here. Such gems include the idea that how much sleep you get isn't important as long as you tell yourself you're going to feel rested in the morning, the vague promise that thinking positively will get you out of debt, and solely journaling as a cure for depression.
