I was really excited for this graphic novel, but I felt kind of let down by the end. Nicole J. Georges seems like someone I would really like, her art is fun, and as someone who struggled to come out to their own family, I was interested in seeing that part of the memoir.
But, as I have seen in another review, things felt very...surface level...? There were so many important and even dark and traumatizing events recorded, but it felt almost like a shallow record rather than a memoir exploring what happened and how it affected the author. Dictionary definition of diary versus journal.
I still enjoyed parts, I just felt disappointed I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. I might give her other works a try, though.
