Riftborne by Parker Lennox, Bree Grenwich

4.0

Riftborne is an enthralling fantasy that captivated me from start to finish. The story revolves around Fia, a beautifully complex character who undergoes significant growth throughout the book as she goes from avoiding most people in her life to being thrown into a mix that she couldn’t say no to - a mix of people that have to do with her orphaned upbringing. Her journey, especially with her unique “Focus” power, is full of twists and emotional depth that kept me hooked.

The enemies-to-lovers plotline was executed brilliantly, making me hate and then love the MMC as the story unfolded. The world-building might not be on the level of “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” but it still creates a compelling setting that’s easy to get lost in. The themes of trauma, resilience, and personal growth are handled with great care, making this a very satisfying read. I finished it in just three days, and I couldn’t put it down!

It ended on a great cliff-hanger and I’m excited to see what the authors do next!
