Discovering Sophie by Cindy Roland Anderson

5.0

I'm pretty sure Cindy Roland Anderson is my new favorite author!! Discovering Sophie is my 3rd book of Miss Anderson's that I've read and I found myself just as mesmerized by Jack and Sophie's story as I am with any of her characters.

Sophie is in a relationship where she appreciates her boyfriend's family more than she loves him. Since he's proposed, she's feeling the need to make a decision for her future that undoubtedly has the prospect of everything she wants, but doesn't feel the life, drive and love she should for someone who is considering marriage. When her father goes missing in the jungles of Costa Rica, she feels the pull to go in search of him instead of staying home at the request of her boyfriend. And boy is she glad she goes!! She hires Jack, a cynic of love and marriage himself, and instantly finds herself drawn to his charm and humility toward the people of Costa Rica, particularly to the children. The two push each other's buttons in a fun and flirty way, eventually pushing themselves into each other's arms.

This is a great story that shows just that sometimes we just need to step back and submit to our gut instincts, because God typically has a reason for those feelings. Fantastically clean and uplifting read!!
