half of me liked the book, half of me wanted to DNF. every couple chapters, I’d groan & want to put the book down.
the only POV I really cared about was Mateo’s, but I still appreciated the side POVs. they didn’t make sense at first, but when they connected with the main characters, it reminded me that every single stranger you meet has their own stories, thoughts, and emotions that you know nothing about.
I simply couldn’t connect to the book on an emotional level. the dialogue felt unnatural & the “carpe diem” message felt overstated.
it reminded me a lot of the Midnight Library, & although the “live every day like it’s your last” theme is already cliché, this book just felt extra cheesy.
