Heaven's Official Blessing I - [天官赐福 I] by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

4.0

Well, it's finally done!
MXTX has a really great eye for plots and characters however, I think is a little bit lost in translation. Understanding that there's no official published English tranlation I am lenient (and this tl is a lot better than MDZS) and theres not really a lot to complain about. The writing is fine, but theres just a lack of emotion in the translation which makes it a bit tedious to get through. I don't know if it's actually the translator's fault or MXTX's error on that part. Though that's not to say there werent parts which were exceedingly heartwrenching which were portrayed through the writing, but they didn't really reflect any /style/ so to say.

However, the single weakness of this book didn't deter me from enjoying this any less! Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are amazing characters, their romance blossomed extremely well, as well with lots of funny and heartwarming parts in between! I'm also one of those people who love a good plot as well as a romance, and this one was pretty good! I was a little confused in some parts (though I blame that on myself trying to read this quickly so I could finally tick off my first book for the new year), and the plot seemed a little lacking to me in comparison with her other works, and was a little bit more character driven, which worked well to tell the story!

Oh yeah!!! A relationship between a god and a ghost was something I had never read about or even considered before!!! That was such a good combination and so unique too, but it works so well! Hualian forever!!!

I did really enjoy this a lot!
