Time Out of Joint
by Philip K. Dick
Excellent PKD book. All the altered reality stuff is there but without having to invoke drugs. Clever story. Goes a bit too quick in the end - PKD is eager to wrap everything up (although not cleanly of course)
Theres a steady drumbeat of unreality starting from the picturesque 1950's reality. It felt quite authentic or at least simulated :P
Vic seems to be un-vic in the end - PKD is too eager to use him as a foil.
So much time is invested in Junie but she seems forgotten in the last 20%.
Not perfect, but then again no PKD book I've read is, but some great ideas, some cool futuring and some good character development.
