My Salinger Year by Joanna Rakoff

4.0

This book is about Rakoff’s time working at a literary agency, and she finds out later than she perhaps should have, that the agency represents JD Salinger. It’s about her relationship with the fan-mail that Salinger gets sent, and the roundabout way that she engages with his literature. In that way it’s really about the transformative power of words and books. If you’re a Salinger fan then definitely read this, likewise if you’re interested in the literary world or the way that literature impacts our lives.
