Good fun. While there's a vague overarching plot, it's more a series of vignettes, with each chapter almost being a short story. It's just an interesting structure that I enjoyed. Polansky's brand of cynical humour also kept it entertaining throughout. Basically, a nice, enjoyable, easy read.
