The Kissing Booth
by Beth Reekles
One star is fairly generous.
I was only 2% into the book and I was already witnessing Wattpad- clichéd-ness: the best friend’s brother, him being the sexiest guy alive, all the schoolgirls crushing on him, the never-ending smirks, the crooked nose that got broken in a fight. Ugh.
So, he’s never made a move on her but somehow warns all the other guys at school to stay away from her. And when she finally gets asked out, he’s going ballistic and blah blah. And then as the big hypocrite that he is, he keeps her all to himself. I can’t. I just can’t.
Well, the title is The Kissing Booth, but I most certainly did not understand by that, that the whole story would revolve around them kissing all the time and making out. And she sleeps with him after less than two weeks. What? Give me a moment here while I gag.
I’m done here.
Edit: I really wished the book was as good as the movie, not that the movie was great either but it was definitely better than the book - and I'm a strong believer in the book is always better than the movie, but not in that case.
