Ahhhh this book. THIS BOOK.

If I could only describe this book in one sentence it would be: A heartbreaking & beautiful fairytale like story of life, love, chosen family, & magic.

This book was extremely atmospheric. If you are looking for a great winter read set in Alaska during the 1900s this is your book.

This book was much darker & sadder than I thought it was going to be. The entire book had this sad tone to it, even if nothing particularly sad was happening. This at times made the book feel very heavy, however, I do think it’s such a great read.

This book had very lovable characters & mysterious, whimsical, & magical elements. It felt like a fairytale.

This book did cover some very sensitive topics so I would encourage you to think about that if you choose to read.
