iffer 's review for:
Superman: Red Son
by Mark Millar
The big reason that I'm not giving this 5 stars is that there was a stretch in the middle when it just wasn't fun. Other than that, proving my skepticism wrong, Superman: Red Son was brilliantly-conceived and very well-executed. I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised, because Mark Millar darn well should know his DC lore, but he manages to write an alternate history (both US history and DC history), yet retain the essence of of all the key DC players to weave a story that both action-packed and about issues. Considering that it was published more than 10 years ago already, it's ideas remain eerily relevant.
