Sanditon by Another Lady, Anne Telscombe, Jane Austen, Marie Dobbs

3.0

I'm not going to lie, I'm fairly new to Austen's work and I recently started reading her thanks to a readathon called the Jane Austen July. After having read two of her main novels this month, I picked this up thinking it will be short and fun, and I was not disappointed. Austen's characters are really well-crafted and come alive on the page. Her humour and wit are spot-on and she really creates the most indulgent, self-absorbed characters and observes their absurdity with a sharp eye. The story was left incomplete because of Austen's untimely death but it has heaps of potential. I still enjoyed it a lot.
