Tempest Revealed by Tracy Deebs
3.0
Meh 3.5-3.75 stars
Logistical inconsistencies and a few grammar/ punctuation errors were annoying and slowed me down. Needs stronger editing.
Writing internalized sexism into Tempest’s character was disappointing, as author did with other books in the trilogy. T is only 17/18 and puts so much pressure on herself. I know it’s meant to serve the story but its harmful and unnecessary.
Repair w Rio was really sweet.
At the end T’s the hero for defeating the villains but gives away some of her power but claiming Mark is the best part of her or whatever and that he helps her hold onto her humanity when that’s just not true. Throughout the series, she holds her humanity and integrity tightly especially bc she’s adamant about not becoming anything like her mom.
The HEA felt rushed, esp w Kona marrying Mahina. Obvious and expected but still boring without more details. Mahina’s character could’ve been flesh out more.
