The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
5.0

omfg. really worth the 1200+ pages. ngl i was very much intimidated to take on this tome because of it’s shear size but this was so goooood!

really the blueprint of all revenge stories that is still very present in modern stories. as a filipino who grew up watching teleseryes, i can see now monte cristo’s influence present in most of those stories. a main character betrayed and thought dead by everyone else then returning years later rich af. like come on! a classic storyline.

i now understand why this is beloved and i can see myself reading this again. i might follow the original serialized publication dates for the vibes when i read this again in a few years.

adding that this book made me gayer. nothing to do with the story. just the book being so fvcking heavy it made my wrists limper from all that lifting. k bye.
