I am not sure how to even review this book. I give it a 5/5 for atmosphere and tension (the "you will be scared but not know why" was brilliant and accurate) but I don't know if I love the ending especially because it started to become confusing as to what was happening (at least for me) and completely shifted tones. I LOVED the parts in the parent's house as well as the drive home, but once we got inside the school, it started to fall apart for me. The tension in the first half of the book was perfect and I just wanted that sense of dread to continue even up to the last sentence. I feel the ending was more sad than scary and there were some things mentioned in the book that I would like more of an explanation as to their meaning. In retrospect, this felt like reading a fever dream.

I definitely want to read more from this author as a book hasn't creeped me out this much in a long time.
