God of Malice by Rina Kent

“…no amount of forts I could build would be able to resist the war that is Killian Carson.”

I’m conflicted when it comes to rating this book.

Was it good? yes

Did it hook me from the start? yes

Did it keep my attention? unfortunately no

When edging closer to the middle of the story I found myself skimming. The writing was good. It flowed nicely . My issue stems more with the characters. I love Glyndon and her growth throughout the story. And Killians disturbed self while annoying at times was still humorous from time to time. But them together was starting to get boring and repetitive.

The worst thing that can happen while reading about the main characters is to be more intrigued by the side characters. And I was. Ava, Cecily, Remi (even though the humor felt forced), Eli, Annika, Nikolai, Brandon, Landon, etc. basically everyone except Glyndon and Killian had my attention. I was more intrigued by the potential for their stories then I was about the couple who’s story I was reading, and that sucks because I wanted to love them.

Either way this story was a decent start to the Legacy of Gods series. Hence the 3 star rating.

I will be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, God of Pain. I feel like I know who the couple might be but I don’t want to jinx it.
