Backlash by Brad Thor

I believe that I called the last Harvath book I read was the best, in most part because his lone wolf persona was put aside as he lead a team.

Nope, this was the best book. for a number of reasons. The most prominent, his mentor, a co-worker and his new wife were killed in a kidnapping attempt of Harvath by the Russians. The plane he was in crashed in Russia and he did his best to make sure that he was the lone survivor. Then he had to survive escaping Russia on foot -- while having to postpone his anger at the loss of the three closest people to him.

Thor's books are very timely in a political sense. That took a backseat -- this was personal. Very.
