A Light in the Flame takes this series to such a greater level than the first book. The pacing picks up and it just stays at this level that made me want to keep reading.

Nyktos and Sera’s relationship develops so much and their chemistry is both beautiful and sexy. The amount of smut was perfect, not too much, not too little.
The fact that the tone of the book changes when Sera realizes she’s in love with him and begins to call him Ash again. *chefs kiss*
my only complaint is the miscommunication that happens when it could be easily solved, which it is solved later in the book.

We get to see SO MUCH of the god world and meet so many different Primals and people. People we feel so much love (Ector, Nektas) and hate (Veses, Kolis) for. The author does such a great job building side characters that we grow relationships with too.

The action, the violence and the plot twists were crazy. There were so many things I couldn’t believe as we get to unravel Sera’s true purpose in her life. I can only wonder what can happen in the next book because this one ends in such a cliffhanger that I feel like can be solved in a couple of chapters BUT I guess I’ll just read and see.
