“Struggle does not make you weak,” she whispers back. “Struggling against those who hold us is what makes us, over time, stronger than they are. Strong enough to fight back. Strong enough to win.” 💪🏽🩷

Okay. This one was heavy like everyone said. I don’t personally have a lot of triggers, but definitely check the trigger warnings on this one folks.

Overall I enjoyed this book. “Hopscotch” nearly broke me in the first half. I appreciate Kennedy Ryan’s ability to dive into the hard topics and somehow infuse joy, hope, and resilience into stories with difficult themes or circumstances.

This one did feel more repetitive and wordy than some of her other books I’ve read. I feel like it could have been a bit shorter as well.

“She remembered who she was and the game changed.” 🥹
