i will never not be floored by a taylor jenkins reid novel, regardless of how simplistic some might say her books are. it’s one of the many reasons why i love her so much; i know i can get so invested that i finish it in a day. the quality of writing goes to show that this was one of her earlier books, but nonetheless i wasn’t deterred from the story of emma and how she navigates such an impossible situation. i so greatly admire TJR’s ability to write simply real characters in situations that seem ridiculous but are entirely possible. if anyone is ever wondering what book to get me, get me a TJR book. just make sure i haven’t read it first— the list of her unread books is starting to dwindle!
