Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade
5.0

Firstly, I want to say thank you so much to Tor Books for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review. I have recently begun to get into adult fantasy and have been trying to broaden my horizons from the typical YA that I am always reading but progressively getting bored of.

Fate of the Fallen is such a fantastic read. This is the first Kel Kade book that I have read and I absolutely adored it. I love her ability to tell a story in such a way that it keeps the reader on the edge of their seats throughout. I love the way the author builds the world within this book it was very interesting and engaging.

I absolutely love the characters in Fate of the Fallen. Aaslo and Mathias are my favourite, they're actually up there with my favourite characters of the year. I love their relationship and Mathias's sarcasm is just excellent. He had me laughing throughout. Absolutely brilliant! On the subject of Mathias, he is such a unique character, I have never seen this idea before! I don't want to go into too much detail as spoilers but honestly you are going to love it.

When I first saw that the story was based on a character that is "the chosen one" I couldn't help but role my eyes expecting it to be the same as every other fantasy book whereby there is a chosen one. That is not the case, I was so wrong. Kel Kade takes a common idea, puts her own spin on things and takes you on a journey you most definitely did not expect.

There were so many exciting elements within this book. Graphic sword fights, mages, gods, foresters, prophets, fae, dragons, witches, wizards ... the list goes on! In the few adult fantasy books I have read so far I find that they can be quite slow and I get bored. Fate of the Fallen has so much going on and so many different characters it will not allow you to get bored. It is amazing, I love it and I think everybody should read it.

The ending was satisfying but also left me with lots of questions. I want to know what happens next and I want the sequel now, I do not want to wait!

Fate of the Fallen is released on 09/12/2019 and I suggest you all get your hands on this book as soon as possible. You will not regret it.
