There's a lot going on under the surface of this story. It had a similar mood to The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw. Both very poignant imho. 

As a follow up to the first of the Wayward series I was pleasantly caught off guard. The first was solid but this one makes me excited to discover if some of the others explore larger themes too.
