Kuang offers her brilliance once again, this time with a novel that dissects the loneliness that comes with an industry as punishing as the publishing sphere. One thing I'll never be put off is how Kuang offers characters that are difficult to empathise with but sometimes you can see the worst part of yourself in them.

The tense was just enough to grip you but the ending felt a bit too abrupt. It's an incredible read, especially if you're a writer, especially if you love writing but it's ruined you just the same.
