The Secret History of Twin Peaks by Mark Frost

Design-wise it's really pretty, and the story is quite engaging. Frost takes Twin Peaks history in an unexpected direction and the atmosphere is different than the original show, I think - but it's definitely a prelude to The Return, so for that reason alone it's worth reading if you like the show.
