This is a well written book, but I hated these characters. I wasn’t rooting for them at all and maybe that was the point, but that meant it was hard to listen to after a certain point. It’s well written in the sense that I found it perfectly captured some of the sentiments of young adulthood-the audacious all knowningness and having the entire world figured out while simultaneously ruining your personal life. I imagine that if I read this in a different phase of life perhaps I would’ve loved it. Younger and I would relate to them more. Older and I might look back at it more nostalgically. But just one phase removed, I look back with disdain on that element of being 19
